"I was at home at the time. I cried. I was just so proud of him," Eliot Wolf said. "It was pretty flooring for me just to know what it meant to him."

The ceremony on Saturday will culminate an unofficial three-week celebration of the Packers' recent past. The period started on July 18, when Green Bay retired Brett Favre's No. 4 jersey and inducted him into the Packers Hall of Fame.
The younger Wolf will introduce his father on Saturday in remarks that have already been videotaped. He'll miss the Packers' annual Family Night practice, but the Hall of Fame ceremony for his father is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"Sometimes you'll go out there and you'll go, 'How are you doing?' Thompson said Tuesday. "And he goes, 'How come you got this guy out here?' Stuff like that, and it's usually just to see what kind of reaction he gets."
Thompson has been general manager since 2005. Eliot Wolf, who was promoted to personnel director in January, is entering his 12th season overall with the club. |
