Two former army chiefs have been appointed as Presidential Advisors, the Ministry of the Presidency announced yesterday.According to the Ministry, Brigadier Edward Collins, who served the army for 34 years rising to the top before retiring in 2007, has been named as Presidential Advisor on National Security.Rear Admiral Gary Best, an attorney-at-law who graduated from the Hugh Wooding Law School, University of London and University of West Indies, retired in 2013 after three decades.He has been appointed as the Presidential Advisor on the Environment.He worked for over three decades with the Guyana Defence Force,Cheap Jerseys China, rising to become Chief-of-Staff for six years before retiring in September 2013.Also appointed a Presidential Advisor is Aubrey Norton. He will be tasked with affairs of Youth Empowerment.Norton has been a perennial senior functionary within the People’s National Congress/Reform (PNCR). Taking a back seat for a few years, he was one of the main faces for the coalition in the recent election campaign. |
