Coach John Fox isn't about to call him injury-prone.
Jeffery missed Thursday's practice, and another of Cutler's options, running back Matt Forte, continued practicing only on a limited basis with a knee injury.
Cutler has completed 75 of 114 for 909 yards with four touchdowns, two interceptions and a passer rating of 94.5 since Jeffery returned from his hamstring injury.
"Well, most games I've known whether or not he's been up or down going into the game, so I've been able to prepare for it and we just kind of shift some things around, put some guys in different spots," Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase said. "I mean, you just adjust. That's what the NFL is. Nobody is going to feel sorry for you.
Cutler isn't in the mood for evaluating his improvement.
Jeffery's contract expires after this season and concerns over his history of injuries have to be weighed before signing him.
Besides having Jeffery available along with tight end Martellus Bennett as an option, Cutler credits the coaching of Gase.
"With these (coaches), things didn't go well (initially). We were lucky enough to win two more and kind of get out of that hole and we've been kind of back and forth from there. Coach Fox hasn't backed down from his message one time and I think the players haven't lost any confidence in that either."
"If he can't go, we've had life without him and we'll figure it out with the guys we've got," Cutler said.
"So you figure out a way to move a few pieces around, try to figure out who's feeling it that day and find a way to get him the ball."
Jeffery's status could be a game-time decision.
