In addition to being screened, surgeries are undertaken as the need arises. However, the CMO revealed that there are yet some challenges with the more advanced stages of cancer. For this reason, he amplified the need for more screening and sensitisation programmes for the female population.“I hope that we can reduce the number of women who will need chemotherapy and radiotherapy and right now that is a challenge to our system, but we hope we can improve that service as we go along.”
