The scope of the works in that area includes grading and scraping sections of the road, rehabilitating critical sections of the roadway, and then overlay the surface with laterite.Meanwhile, MMC completed 80 percent of repairs under lots one and four which is from Linden to Mile 72. Mohammed stated that the contractor still has to place additional material on roadway on certain sections.He added that lot two commenced from Siparuni Junction to Kurupukari and covers a distance of about 60 miles. Thus far, the contractor has rehabilitated 15 miles. However, this section is experiencing heavy torrential rainfall resulting in the delay of works.Mohammed asserted that works will conclude within the next three months and contractors will be conducting maintenance works on the stretch for a period of one year.He emphasised that rehabilitation of 30 bridges along the road were completed and the Ministry is expected to carry out works on the remaining two soon.
