Surajdat Persaud, 40, of Fifth Field, Cummings Lodge Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara, was yesterday remanded to prison by acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson,Nike Air Max Shoes For Men, on a charge of stealing US$1242; TT$700; and one US driver’s license,Nike Shox Gravity Black, property of Hemdat Kumar. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.According to the defendant, he worked with Kumar as a “farmer”. The man further told the court that,Off White Air Max 97 For Sale, on the day in question, Kumar came to his home and took him to the farm, which is located at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara.Persaud explained that,Air Max 90 Black And White, when he reached the farm,Nike Air Max Zero Mens, he had on his person $18,000, which Kumar took before tying him up to a tree and beating him.He said that the “boss man” would always threaten to kill him along with a younger boy who used to work with Kumar. Persaud told the court that the “young boy” got killed, and no one was arrested for his murder.However,Cheap Air Max 90 For Sale, Police Prosecutor Sherwin Matthews told a different story. He said that this was not the first time that Persaud was accused of stealing from Kumar.Matthews further stated that nothing was recovered.Matthews asked that the court take into consideration the quantum that was stolen.Persaud was remanded and is expected to make his next court appearance on January 15. |
