KANSAS CITY,Wholesale Jerseys, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith was cited for driving under the influence and careless driving after an officer witnessed him lose control and strike a light pole early Monday.
Smith declined medical attention. His vehicle sustained significant damage to the front and undercarriage, and the light pole was left broken on the sidewalk.
The 26-year-old Smith was among the Chiefs' significant offseason acquisitions a year ago, signing a $16.5 million,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, three-year contract. He started all but one game at cornerback, making 47 stops and two interceptions while helping the Chiefs go 11-5 and reach the playoffs. Smith is expected to start at cornerback again this season.
"We are aware of the situation involving Sean Smith. Whenever one of our players is involved in an incident like this it is disappointing," the Chiefs said in a statement to The Associated Press. "We will have no further comment at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter."
