The Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday held a graduation ceremonyHospital officials and graduates.for the 15 participants who successfully completed the one year Operating Room Technician Programme. The course which concluded after nine months of rigorous training started January 31, 2011. The course also included three months preceptorship.The small group comprised five 5 nursing staff members and Patient Care Assistants of the GPHC. The other participants were picked from the ten administrative regions. Kaieteur News was told that this was the first batch of trainees which included participants from the outlying regions.Mrs. Audrey Corry, Director of Nursing said that the course covered areas such as, Code of Conduct in the Operating Room,Cheap Jerseys Online, Infection Control, Care and Knowledge of Operating Room equipment and instruments and Confidentiality of patient information.The programme was facilitated by GPHC’s own Medical and Nursing Staff whose mandate was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to: provide competent pre and post operative care and support to patients,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, assist the surgeon intra-operatively and to maintain the efficient functioning of the operating rooms.The occasion was attended by Dr. Shamdeo Persaud, Chief Medical Officer on behalf of the Hon.
