Travel in the Pomeroon for students may be made a little easier through a Food for the Poor initiative.On Wednesday,Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping, two 75-horsepower Yamaha outboard engines, worth $2.3M, were donated to Camille DeJesus, a Ministry of Education official, and to Rock Beharry of the Catholic Diocese, Hosororo, by Food for the Poor (Guyana) Inc.The presentations were made at the Food for the Poor (FFTP) head office, Georgetown.Michelle Branker, Public Relations Manager of FFTP, said that one of the engines was given to transport the children to and from school in the communities along the Pomeroon River.“The other was given to the community of Hosororo, in the North West District, and will be used for transporting the priest and other church officials to the various missionary outreaches,” Branker added.The donation, Branker said, is part of the organization’s mandate to help those in need, regardless of race, status or creed.This, her organisation hopes, will make travelling to and from school much easier for the children in all the communities.Guyana Prison Service official, Shirley Crossman, receives the boots from Ms. Branker. On Wednesday, too, FFTP donated Wellington (long boots) to the Guyana Prison Service and the Transport and Harbours Department. Each organisation collected 50 pairs. Branker said, “This is the first batch of a shipment valued at about $4.5M to be distributed to farming communities and individuals.”Food for the Poor (Guyana) Inc is a Charitable, Non-governmental organisation that relies heavily on the public, donor’s assistance and donations, whether it is monetary or kind.(Mondale Smith) |
