They say that Guyana’s future lies in its youths. This statement could not have been more firmly exemplified than on Monday last at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) when the students of several nursery and primary schools competed for honours in the regional leg of the Children’s Mashramani 2009 Competition.The toddlers, 5-7yrs, competed in the ‘Nursery Dance,’ group category while the older children (8-10yrs) wowed the large audience with their individual gyrations.Travis Chase and Henry Rodney performed MC duties and kept the children lively with their witty remarks.The children also contributed to the general lively spirits,China Jersyes Cheap, echoing the lyrics of such famous artistes as ‘Money can’t change we,NFL Jerseys From China,’ by Movado and ‘Umbrella,’ by Rihanna.A full house consisting of supportive parents,Stitched Jerseys, teachers and screaming students watched in awe and admiration as the children displayed amazing choreography and skill while engaged in interpretive and fantasy dances.The South Road Nursery with a group of 12 dancers pirouetted their way to the 1st place prize in the Interpretive Category while Gacestock Nursery emerged on top in the Fantasy Category. Their pieces were dubbed ‘Unity Time in 2009’ and ‘Young Vendors,Wholesale China NFL Jerseys,’ respectively.The South Road Nursery with ‘Jubilation’ placed 1st in the ‘Religious Belief’ category with a delectable piece ‘’Jubilation.’They then returned to capture 3rd place in the ‘Fantasy’ category with ‘Balloon Fiesta’.Sherman’s Nursery came in 2nd with ‘Dancing Country Girls.’ They then ended up in the 3rd place in the interpretive category with ‘Party Celebration foh Mash.’Headstart Nursery placed 2nd in the interpretive category with ‘Bacchanal Fever’ while Kingston Nursery was the 3rd place finisher with ‘Triumphant Glory.’ Other winning pieces came from Green Acres Primary,Cheap NFL jerseys China, 1st in ‘Religious Beliefs’ with ‘Praise Him.’St Agnes Primary copped a double with a 1st place in the Interpretive Category with ‘Mash Time’ and the Fantasy Category with ‘Time for Fun.’ St Thomas More Primary finished second in the Fantasy Category with ‘Barbie Doll’ while Stella Maris placed third in the interpretive category with ‘We Mashing.’ Winfer Gardens won the second place trophy for their piece ‘Soca Invasion.’The second half of the day’s proceedings was just as delectable as the morning sessions. Here, the children performed individual pieces that evoked hearty applause from the audience.Mae’s Primary School was represented by Lantonyah Assim in the ‘Legends and Tradition’ category. She danced away with the first prize with her piece ‘African Vibes.’ Mohanie Henry represented the Graham’s Hall Primary and came in second with ‘Nachele’ (Let us dance).Green Acres Primary,Cheap Jerseys NFL China, through their representative,NBA Jerseys China, Saffira Michael, waltzed away with the 1st place in the Religious Beliefs individual category with ‘Call upon the Lord.’They returned to chalk up another first in the ‘Religious belief’ group category. Their piece was dubbed ‘Let’s Rejoice.’ Latecia Hassan of the St Agnes Primary came in second in this category with ‘Let Peace Reign.’ St Agnes then placed 3rd in the group category with ‘Mash Vibes.’Mae’s Primary rose above their competitors in the ‘Interpretive’ category with ‘Mash Fever.’ North Georgetown Primary placed second in this category with ‘Celebration Fever’ while St Agnes Primary sealed off the podium positions with “Mash Vibes.’At the end of the day’s proceedings Green Acres Primary was adjudged the school to represent Georgetown at the finals with their piece, ‘Praise Him’. The competition continued at the same venue yesterday with the physical display and dance. |
