He told police that a female army captain and other army ranks, who were out of uniform, were also present.According to the statement, the ranks were trying to find out from Niles who had given him the ammunition and who the rounds were for.     The prison official told investigators that because he knew Niles,Nike Tns Cheap Online, he also began to question the prisoner.According to the statement, Niles eventually claimed that a prisoner, nicknamed ‘Tennis Roll’ was to have collected the ammunition from Camp Ayanganna.Niles reportedly said that ‘Tennis Roll’ often worked at Camp Ayanganna, but did not go to the army base that day.According to the statement,Nike Air Max 95 Mens, Niles also alleged that an army rank who had escorted the inmates back to the Georgetown Prisons had given him the ammunition. However, Niles reportedly changed his story when a confrontation was arranged between him and the army rank. The other prisoners who had accompanied Niles to Camp Ayanganna also gave the officials a description of another soldier who Niles had spoken to at the army base. The statement added that Niles then refused to co-operate further. The prison official told police that he then left the office where Niles was being interrogated and returned to the Prison Officer’s Club. His statement alleged that about 45 minutes later, a prison official came to the club and informed him that Niles had been taken into police custody. It was only on the following day that he learned that Niles had been hospitalized, the statement said.   Police officials had told Kaieteur News on Thursday that they have recommended that four prison officers be charged with murder in connection with Niles’ death. They said that one of the senior ranks is stationed at the Georgetown Prisons, while the other is stationed at Mazaruni.Kaieteur News was told that the report concluded that Niles was tortured to the extent that he suffered first and second degree burns, among other injuries.Police investigators returned the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions last week, after providing further information about the case on her request. Some prison ranks are upset that no army ranks have been implicated in Niles’ death, although some of them were present when he was interrogated.A separate investigation by army officials appeared to focus primarily on how Niles obtained the ammunition. At the time Niles was found with the ammunition, Joint Services officials had received information that a firearm had been smuggled into the Georgetown Prisons and that some of the inmates were planning a jailbreak. These fears appeared to have been confirmed in August, when ranks at the Georgetown Prisons nabbed an inmate with a .38 revolver and matching rounds of ammunition. Niles was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) on July 3 with a broken arm and burns to his shoulders, back and buttocks. He succumbed on July 11 from a clot in the lungs caused by the burns about the back.It is alleged that he was beaten and scalded with hot water while being interrogated at the Georgetown Prisons in connection with the ammunition in his possession.Niles and other prisoners had worked at the army’s Camp Ayanganna base on July 3.According to one report, Niles had taken a discarded pair of trousers from the building that was being cleaned.Niles was wearing the same trousers when he returned to the prison, and the ammunition was discovered in his pockets.Police officials allege that their ranks observed burns and other injuries on the prisoner when they arrived at the Georgetown Prison to take him into custody. Some prison officers reportedly told the policemen that Niles had sustained the injuries after dragging himself on the prison floor. Niles was then taken to the Brickdam Police Station for a few minutes, but when a senior officer saw the extent of his injuries, he ordered his ranks to take the inmate to the GPHC.
