Trinidad (Trinidad Guardian) – An order was issued for the immediate deportation of Guyanese national, Allian Gilgeous, on Tuesday after he was convicted of working in Trinidad and Tobago without a permit. The complainant (Cpl Joseph Corraspe) said you are allowed to work up to 30 days but you must report it upon entry.”Chankar pointed out that a stamp authorising work within the country was issued upon entry. “You did not meet these requirements,” she said as she reprimanded and discharged him and issued an immediate deportation order. The magistrate ordered that Gilgeous be placed in the custody of immigration officials to await deportation. Last year, Gilgeous was granted six months’ entry on vacation. Three days after his arrival, however, he was arrested and charged with being illegally employed. He was not the holder of a valid work permit. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. |
