…one gets time off to write CSEC examinations Five of the six persons who were said to be involved in the vigilante type beating to death of a Corentyne resident were on Monday back in court and were further remanded to jail.Those in court were Randolph Samuel, called ‘Rudy’ 22; Aris Cecil, 21, of Port Mourant; Richard Griffith called ‘Buck Head’ 19; Michael Lewis, called ‘Mickey’ 31; and Khruhnaraj Jagdeo, 47, all of Rose Hall Town Corentyne.Absent was 18-year-old Zafar Seetaram who was ironically at the New Amsterdam Multilateral School where he was writing Religious Education at the CSEC level. He is expected to write English ‘A’ today.Prosecutor Corporal Sherlock King told the court that the men are accused of killing Alfred Munroe called “Guana Man”, 45,Wholesale Soccer Jerseys, of Manchester, Corentyne on Thursday April 9, last, at Bound Yard Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.They appeared again before Magistrate Krisendat Persaud at the Whim Magistrate’s court and were not required to plead. They are being represented by Attorneys at Law Rodwell Jagmohan, Sanjeev Datadin and Charles Ramson Jr.The men allegedly beat Munroe and one Annie Persaud, called “Short Hair 18 of Rose Hall, Corentyne and tied them with rope before placing them in the trunk of a car and driving away. The incident allegedly took place around 07:30hrsThe men will have to return to court on Monday June 3. |
