…non-compliance will result in penaltiesThe Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is urging members of the public to file their tax returns by April 30 or be faced with penalties.According to a GRA release, the due date for filing all returns on income,Brandon Dubinsky Jersey, including Income tax,Robert Bortuzzo Jersey, Corporation Tax, Property Tax and Capital Gain Tax for all categories of taxpayers,Mike Gartner Jersey, including PAYE and self-employed,Pierre Pilote Jersey, are due on or by April 30,Martin Havlat Jersey, 2009.It added that returns,Valeri Nichushkin Jersey, which are filed late,Brandon Saad Jersey, would automatically incur a penalty. The release also stated that the GRA recently implemented the Total Revenue Integrated Processing System (TRIPS), which requires all taxpayers to have a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and that automatically determines non-filers.As such, it said, late filing penalties are automatically processed.“Taxpayers are therefore advised to ensure that the filing of returns (is) made within the time specified in law.”In order to ensure compliance by taxpayers and facilitate the filing of returns, each week in the month of April the GRA will have several booths set up at prominent locations and will be conducting demonstrations; explaining and assisting taxpayers,Teuvo Teravainen Jersey, with the filing of their returns.This exercise will be done in Georgetown and its environs,David Clarkson Jersey, as well as at Regional Branch Offices so as to ensure compliance by taxpayers countrywide. |
