Employees of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority will be proceeding on strike on Thursday, as talks in relation to retroactive overtime payments and adjustments in their salaries to facilitate the five percent increase broke down between the Ministry of Public Works and employees.Kaieteur News was told that a letter was sent to Prime Minister Samuel Hinds and Minister of Public Works,Penny Hardaway Magic Jersey, Robeson Benn, stating that, should there be no correspondence from them regarding the concerns of the GCAA employees,Marcin Gortat Wizards Jersey, the employees will resort to industrial action.The letter was also copied to Chief Labour Officer Mohamed Akeel.Speaking with Kaieteur News yesterday,Russell Westbrook Team USA Jersey, a GCAA staff member said that, apart from the money issues within the GCAA,Elfrid Payton Magic Jersey, there are other problems which need to be addressed.“The conditions in which air traffic controllers have to work are less than favourable.
