Two young men are now able to pursue studies in fields of their choice at the University of Guyana, Tain Campus, after they were awarded scholarships by Guyana Watch,Maglia Inter 2019 Originale, a non governmental organisation that caters for the needs of those most in need.Raynor Mc Andrew,Wholesale Jerseys China, 26, and Pooran Appadu, 20, both of Corentyne,Wholesale Authentic Jerseys, Berbice will be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Biology and an Associate Degree in Chemistry respectively.At a simple ceremony to mark the occasion in the office of the President of Guyana Watch,Liverpool FC Jersey 18/19, Tony Yassin, the young men were both presented with cheques which represented payment for the first year of tuition. Yassin explained that the youths started their respective course last October after they acquired loans from the University’s loan department.While there the exemplary performance of the two youths prompted one of their tutors to seek assistance on their behalf.That tutor is Marlyn Ramjeet-Samad,Wholesale NCAA Jerseys, who explained that the men are among the top performers in their respective disciplines but financial constraints mean that they could not pay for their own education.Ramjeet-Samad said that this prompted her to seek avenues to have the young men sponsored and that quest led her to Guyana Watch.Speaking to Kaieteur News at the ceremony, Yassin said that there are conditions attached to the scholarship. The men must achieve an overall B average for their entire programme.Upon completion they are expected to serve their country for a specific number of years. This, Yassin said, will serve as an incentive for the lads to endeavour for excellence.Expressing thanks at the benevolence of Guyana Watch,Cheap NFL Jerseys, Mc Andrew and Appadu said that they will work assiduously towards making their families, communities and most importantly Guyana Watch proud.The youths disclosed that they have every intention to assist their communities so that they can make a difference in the end. Further the lads said that they will play their part in making a difference in Guyana’s development.Guyana Watch is a non governmental organisation that has been in operation since 1994.Although its main focus is in assisting to offset medical expenses, the organisation is also involved in other charitable deeds directed to the less fortunate and the underprivileged. |
