Tain Primary School students spelt their way to championship honours on Tuesday at the Rose Hall Town Primary School when the Inter Primary School Spelling B competition formed part of The Rose Hall Town 42nd anniversary celebrations.The activity which was organised by the Rose Hall Town Anniversary and Development Organization (RHTADO) was part of the successful two weeks of activities.It was held for Primary schools in the Central Corentyne catchment areas. Three of the schools were Tain,Tyron Smith Cowboys Jersey, Rose Hall Town and Port Mourant primaries. In the end and after a keenly contested affair it was Tain Primary that came out on top with 54 points followed closely by Rose Hall Town Primary on 52 points.The winning Tain Primary was presented with a trophy. The other two schools also received trophies,Jason Witten Jersey, compliments of Digicel.The best speller in the competition was Asaf Ally of Tain Primary and he received one bicycle,Richard Dent Bears Jersey, compliments of Home Line furnishing,William Perry Bears Jersey, a trophy from Digicel and a hamper from Ansa Mc Al. Ray Persaud of Rose Hall Town was second and he was presented with a hamper from Bermudez and a backpack from Digicel.The activities which were organised by the Rose Hall Town Anniversary committee were held under the theme ‘Unity for a better community’. According to coordinator Andrew Griffith,Tyron Smith Jersey, it was one of the biggest and best since the activity began.The Chairman was Winston Hope of the Rose Hall Town Council.
