A man accused of breaking into the Georgetown Cricket Club, Bourda, and stealing a quantity of articles, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton where he was arraigned on the offences of break and enter and larceny and subsequently remanded to prison until October 26.When Royston Forde made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, he heard the allegation that on August 14, he broke and entered the storeroom of the Georgetown Cricket Club and stole 20 bed frames, six pitch covers, seven garbage bins and two grill doors, a total value of $753,500.He pleaded not guilty.The prosecutor Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey objected to the defendant being granted bail. Bail was denied.And also appearing before Magistrate Octive-Hamilton, charged with a similar offence, was 33-year-old Hubert Crandon, of D’urban Backlands, Georgetown. He denied the allegation against him.The charge against Crandon states that on August 15,Acheter Hydro Flask, he stole one motor pump worth $60,000, the property of Winston Smith.The Prosecution had no objections to bail but asked that it be set in a substantial amount.Bail was granted in the sum of $25,000 and Crandon was ordered to make his next court appearance on November 3.
