Minister Robert Persaud said that it was investigating the sand mining activities on a private property in Sand Hills, Demerara River following objections brought to the Ministry by residents.The GGMC was thus ordered by the Minister to issue a Cease Work Order to all parties. As it was noted that the matter was before the court, the Minister had the cease work order enforced until the court matter was resolved.
