A man who was obviously unaware that he was robbing a police officer had the shock of his life when he realized that the woman whose chain he snatched last Sunday is a constable. He was remanded to jail yesterday when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry.Jermaine Easter,LeGarrette Blount Patriots Jersey, of 101 Leopold Street,James White Patriots Jersey, Werk-en-Rust,Robert Alford Falcons Jersey, pleaded not guilty to larceny from the person. The charge against him stated that on the day in question on Croal Street,Steve Grogan Patriots Jersey, Georgetown,Tedy Bruschi Patriots Jersey, he stole an $80,Brian Poole Falcons Jersey,000 chain belonging to Samantha Williams.Police prosecutor Phillip Sheriff said that the victim was walking along Croal Street returning from Sunday morning mass. The defendant who was at the time riding a pedal cycle came up from behind and snatched the woman’s chain from her neck.He rode away but was apprehended in the Brickdam Police compound last Friday. The man had been picked up by officers who conducted a raid and the victim after noticing the alleged suspect pointed out the man to the police. He was arrested and charged for the offence.The police requested that the defendant be remanded since it was not the first time he was apprehended for such an offence. They said that the man served three months behind bars after being convicted on a similar charge.After checks to confirm the information the defendant was remanded.On the day of the incident the officer,Martellus Bennett Patriots Jersey, who was clad in high heel shoes, gave chase after the alleged thief and managed to clobber him with her umbrella.
