A Regent Street food vendor has vehemently denied that he was responsible for a fire that destroyed a house at Coglan Dam, West Coast Demerara, on Monday. The man, Youmanram Bissessar,LaDarius Gunter Packers Jersey UK, and his present wife Nanda, were recently released from police custody. They both maintained that they were not at home when the fire started and they believe that they are being set up by Bissessar’s ex-wife Kousilla Bhagwandin.Bhagwandin,Justin Grimm Cubs Jersey, who had been occupying the house with her two sons for the past five years up to Saturday last when Bissessar moved in with his new wife and their children,Giovani dos Santos Mexico Jersey, stopped short of outwardly accusing her ex-husband of burning the house down. She had claimed that she was part owner of the property and that Bissessar had bullied his way back in on Saturday. She had also claimed that she was forced to seek a restraining order hours before the fire started to force Bissessar and his new wife out of the house. She suggested that it was that move that led to the fire.Investigators had detained Bissessar and his new wife after they almost ruled out electricity as the cause of the fire,Chicago Cubs Dexter Fowler Jersey, which reportedly started in the kitchen in the upper flat of the building. But according to Bissessar,Pierre Pilote Jersey, the house belonged to him and he questioned, “why would I want to burn down my own house?” He told this newspaper yesterday that the two nights he and his wife spent in the lock-ups were the worse two nights of his life, especially since he was wrongfully accused. He recounted that after he and Bhagwandin separated five years ago, they both left the Coglan Dam house which they had shared while they were together. Bissessar said he went to live with his new wife at her parents’ property on the East Coast of Demerara while Bissessar went back to her mother’s house. In the meantime, he rented the Coglan Dam house to a couple.According to Bissessar,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, a few months after the separation, Bhagwandin went to him and told him that she was experiencing difficulties at her mother and needed a place to stay with their two sons. Bissessar said that he reluctantly agreed to have his tenants share the property with his ex-wife, and she eventually moved in, occupying a single bedroom. He said that over time,St. Louis Cardinals Ozzie Smith Jersey, the tenants became uncomfortable with the arrangement and decided to move out, leaving Bissessar and her children as the sole occupants. She continued to live almost uninhibited for the next few years. The one bad period occurred a few years ago when they ended up before the court after Bissessar threatened her. For that Bissessar was placed on a bond to keep the peace for one year. All went well after that until last week.Bissessar told this newspaper that he too began experiencing difficulties at his in-laws’ property and decided that he had to move. His only other option was to talk to Bhagwandin with a view to having her vacate the property so that he could house his new family. When that arrangement did not find favour with Bhagwandin, Bissessar resigned to sharing the property with his ex-wife. It was an arrangement that spelt certain disaster.“When I move on Saturday afternoon,Los Angeles Dodgers Corey Seager Jersey, she opened up and we went in and we talked. Then she started saying that we can’t live like this, me with two women in one house. She told me if she had done that to me I would not like it. Then she said that there will be problems,Ray Nitschke Packers Jersey,” Bissessar recalled. He said that he told his ex-wife that it was his house and he had rescued her when she needed help. Bhagwandin left and went out, but not before telling her seven-year-old son to turn off the generator. She went to the Vreed- en-Hoop Police Station where she reported what was transpiring. However, she was advised by the police that she should get a restraining order since there was nothing they could do at the time. The rest of the weekend went by without incident. But on Monday, Bissessar went to town to carry out his business, leaving his wife and children in the house.Bhagwandin, meanwhile, went to the court where she made an application for the restraining order.Contrary to earlier reports, the order has not yet been granted.Bissessar said that he was at the Vigilance Police Station attending to a matter when he received a call that his house was on fire. He said that he was shocked when the police informed him that he and his wife would have to spend the night in custody.“The police tell me dat I burn down de house and they locked us up,” Bissessar stated.“She said that the fire started at the back by the kitchen…we never cooked in the kitchen since we go there…she (Bhagwandin) is the only person who used that kitchen,” Bissessar said. After two nights at the Vreed-en-Hoop and Den Amstel lock-ups, the couple was released on Wednesday.“Imagine we went to the police, they did not have to look for us and yet they locked us up for two nights,” Bissessar said. The fire has not only rendered them homeless but penniless also.“We lost everything…not even the food stuff we had was saved,” said his tearful wife Nanda Bissessar. So far the fire department has not been able to determine the cause of the fire. |
