It was a wide cross section that came with various issues and we were able to deal with them.“Some of the things we dealt with included citizenship, passports, immigration, scholarships, social cohesion, public service, land, health issues, water, street lights and so forth. Those which had to be referred to the other Ministers and Ministries, we have referred them and we also gave them a time by which action will be taken. So people are at least getting the understanding of what is the next step in the matter in which they came to us for,” Minister Harmon explained.While he could not provide a date for the next ‘Public Day’, Minister Harmon promised that the event will be monthly and will see every part of Guyana benefiting.The ‘Public Day’ forum, which was held from 09:00hrs to 13:00hrs, saw attendance from Minister of State, Mr. Joseph Harmon; Minister of Citizenship, Mr. Winston Felix; Permanent Secretary of the Department of Public Service, Mr. Reginald Brotherson; Legal Advisor to the Ministry, Mrs. Geeta Chandan-Edmond, representatives from the Ministry of Social Cohesion, Immigration Office and the Public Service Department.
