The two are already senior doctors functioning at the public hospital.Their achievements are expected to boost the delivery of paediatric care at the GPHC as it is expected to complement the work of the few doctors so qualified.The Masters Programme which was introduced during the last quarter of 2011 was spearheaded by the public hospital’s Institute of Health Science Education, in collaboration with UG’s Faculty of Health Sciences and the Humber River Regional Hospital in Toronto. According to External Director of the Programme, Dr. Narendra Singh, the two newly qualified doctors were selected for the programme based on their seniority in the field of paediatrics. “They have been in the field for a number of years and they have been doing a phenomenal job because every month we have been testing them. He nonetheless asserted that there are some, the likes of Dr. Chatterdeo, an outstanding graduate, who have shown sustained commitment to the local health sector over the years.The University also for the first time on Saturday conferred the Masters of Medicine in Emergency Medicine, on Bux Zulfikar.
