Popular businessman Enrico Greaves a/ka Boy Blue,Andrew Shaw Jersey, has complained of what he calls ‘disrespect and gross wrongdoings’ by a member of the City Constabulary.According to the businessman,Johnny Oduya Jersey, who owns Chemical Corner,Kevin Shattenkirk Jersey, located in close proximity to the East Coast Demerara minibus park,Pierre Pilote Jersey, the City constable allegedly constantly collects large sums of cash each week from illegal vendors and stallholders in that area.The businessman said that he would have his colleagues seize their goods when they refuse to pay.Greaves,Ryan Murray Team North America Jersey, who has occupied his spot for over 30 years,Mark Scheifele Team North America Jersey, said that on Wednesday the said constable turned up at his business claiming to have instructions from the City Council to demolish the structure. Greaves has a stall in the Vendors’ Arcade.The businessman said that while the constable could produce no written order to tear down his stall,Jonas Brodin Jersey, he nevertheless persisted although he (Greaves) produced his legal papers.Greaves explained that he even pointed to the illegal structures that should have attracted the attention of the constable but all were ignored, save for one which they eventually demolished too.He noted that even vendors operating ‘cool down carts’ are forced to give monies to the constable just to earn a living as Greaves chose to put it.He noted that the constable had approached him often to solicit cash but he has always turned him down,Alex Goligoski Jersey, which he feels further promoted the attack on his stall on Wednesday.The man noted that he was providing C-Point and internet services from his stall. He said that he has lost over $100 000 in earnings since his structure was torn down.While he said he is very aghast at the constable’s actions,Ales Hemsky Jersey, he noted that he only desires for the City Council to rebuild his stall so that he can conduct business and pay his many employees. |
