Gregory Ward, 31, of 70 Evans Street, Charlestown,Francisco Lindor Indians Jersey, was yesterday granted $75,000 bail by acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.It is alleged that Ward, on January 13 last, wounded Afeez Maraj. The accused pleaded not guilty. He was represented by attorney-at-law Winston Murray, who, in a bail application, told the court that his client has no previous convictions.The lawyer added that since Ward began working where he now does, he has been frequently taunted by Maraj.Murray said that his client comes from an honest background,Mike Matheny Cardinals Jersey, and added that on the day in question the two got into an argument. The prosecutor said that Maraj was dealt several cuffs to his face and suffered a broken nose.The lawyer interjected and told the court that it’s a major difference between broken and suspected to have been broken.Bail was granted, and the accused is expected to make his next court appearance on February 28.Also appearing in the same court was Samantha Charran, 20, of Sixth Street, Campbellville,Matt Harvey Mets Jersey, who was charged for break and enter and larceny.It is alleged that the accused broke and entered the dwelling house of Roxanne George and stole a quantity of items valued at $43,500. She pleaded not guilty.  According to Police Prosecutor Sherwin Matthews, one of the items (a DVD player) was recovered from the defendant.He added that Charran had admitted to taking the articles from George.According to George, her bicycle and DVD were sold to a person in the area. George said that she had left Samantha Charran at home washing. She added that she had secured her home before she left.George told the court that, upon arrival home, she immediately discovered that the items were missing and she summoned the police.However, the defendant told the court a different version of events. She said that she was going home when she saw someone breaking into George’s home. The woman said that she went to the police station to make a report, but they did not take the report.Charran was remanded to prison and is expected to make her next court appearance on January 26.And Jermaine Semple, 34, of 26 Paradise, East Coast Demerara,Jake Arrieta Cubs Jersey, who was charged for possession of narcotics, was released on $45,Willie Mays Giants Jersey,000 bail yesterday.Semple, on January 14 last, allegedly had in his possession 13 and one-half grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
