Representatives of telecommunication company, Digicel, has once again signaled to Amerindian Affairs Ministry the company’s interest in sponsoring this year’s sporting activities held in commemoration of Amerindian Heritage Month.This was done during a simple ceremony, yesterday, at the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs,Sergi Roberto Jersey, where Digicel’s Public Relations Manager handed over a cheque marking $1M to the Minister of Amerindian Affairs,During the ceremonial handing over(From left) Egbert Mayers, Gavin Hope,Sergi Samper Barcelona Jersey, Shonnette Moore, Nigel Dharamlall, Pauline Sukhai, and Yvonne Pearson.Pauline Sukhai.The ceremony was attended by the Amerindian Affairs Permanent Secretary, Nigel Dharamlall; Advisor to the Minister,Cristopher Toselli Jersey, Yvonne Pearson; the Ministry’s Sports Coordinator Egbert Mayers and Digicel’s Marketing Manager, Gavin Hope.This year’s sponsorship marks eight years of the company’s support to Heritage Month activities since its establishment. She said that the support comes as a result of the recognition of the need to preserve Amerindian Heritage.The Minister,Eduardo Vargas Chile Jersey, in accepting the offer of sponsorship, expressed their appreciation for the promotion and support of sports has been receiving over the years from Digicel.
