The money was confiscated as suspected proceeds from the narcotics sales.Massiah told the court that Rowtie was evasive and non cooperative with the police, when questioned about his whereabouts.“The defendant took ranks to Lot 188 D’Andrade Street, Newtown, as the place where he lives,Chris Chelios Jersey, but his parents told the officers that their son no longer lives there, he had moved. He resides at an address in South, hence he was held in custody.”Attorney at Law Latchmie Rahamat made an application for bail. She reassured the court that her client has a fixed place of abode at Lot 188 D’andrade Street, Newtown, and is employed as a security guard at Medicare Pharmacy.Rahamat argued that the hut, where the alleged narcotics had been found was accessible and at times occupied by two other security officers, on a shift system.She told the court that her client has had no previous convictions or pending matters.The prosecution however objected to bail on the grounds that Rowtie may flee the jurisdiction if granted pre-trial liberty.The Chief Magistrate remanded the defendant to prison until today.
