The residents of Region Nine are not to be left out of the celebrations surrounding the achievements of youngsters at the National Grade Six Assessment.According to Kaieteur News’ Correspondent in the area,Troy Aikman College Jersey, Brian Sam,Adoree Jackson USC Jersey, who is stationed at Lethem,Matt Leinart USC Jersey, the three top performers of the Region have all earned spots at Queen’s College.The best performers are Dan James with 542 marks,Kris Jenkins Villanova Jersey, Jonathan Jacobus,Matt Leinart College Jersey, who came in second with 538 marks and Jad Atkinson who trailed Jacobus by just one mark with 537 as his total. James and Atkinson live at Aishalton and attended the Aishalton Primary School while Jacobus was a pupil of the St. Ignatius Primary School.Young Jonathan Jacobus still fighting his illnessThis newspaper was unable to contact Atkinson and James or their families but Jonathan Jacobus and his family were available for comment.The young man who aspires to become an architect has credited his supportive parents for his success at the examination. His mother who is also a teacher at St. Ignatius Primary said that he has always had a lot of potential and even at a very young age worked very hard to get to where he is today. Jonathan said that he truly put in a lot of effort to become a top achiever and is very pleased to have been awarded a place at the top city school.The news of his performance however meant a lot more for him than it might have for other students. Jonathan became very ill after he wrote his examinations and eventually needed to undergo surgery to have his appendix removed. But his woes did not end there; during the recovery period,Reggie Miller College Jersey, the young man in his weakened state contracted the small pox virus and had a tough time to fight his way through that illness also. He has accepted the troubles with good grace and is just looking forward to starting school in the new term.
