A group of protesters marched through the streets of Georgetown yesterday afternoon as the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) upped the ante on Government to launch investigations into a range of issues with the Shaheed Roger Khan revelations taking centre stage.Led by leader of the opposition,JuJu Smith-Schuster USC Jersey, Robert Corbin, and escorted by a large band of alert police officers,Taylor Mays College Jersey, the protesters began their march at Square of the Revolution and proceeded west into Hadfield Street,Bill Walton College Jersey, north into Camp Street and then east into South Road. The group then went north into Alexander Street and culminated the march at the Parade Ground.The protest picked up momentum along the way and some passers by even vented support. The proceedings halted at the corners of Regent and Alexander Streets when,Cheap Soccer Jerseys, as the marchers approached the junction for the last leg of the journey,Kemba Walker Uconn Jersey, loud sirens heralded the passing of President Bharrat Jagdeo’s state vehicles.With screeching tires,Troy Polamalu USC Jersey, the vehicles had scarcely cleared the corner before the chanting protesters arrived at the junction.Immediately, the protesters began chanting boisterously, “It’s murder,Cheap NHL Jerseys, it’s murder, it’s state-sponsored murder.”The more creative greeted the President with the lyrics of the popular song ‘Radica.’ Oh, Oh, Oh,Kareem Abdul-Jabbar College Jersey, Oh, Oh why yo pushing coke.’ Another group redefined the acronym PPPC to mean ‘Plenty People Pushing Cocaine.’ And yet another set of protesters chanted Fire Fire and then went on to suggest which Government Minister needs to see to garner expert advice in this area.The PNCR recently initiated a series of street marches in an attempt to persuade the government to launch investigations into the execution style murder of former television talk show host and journalist, Ronald Waddell.The main opposition party is also demanding a probe into accusations made by witnesses at the Roger Khan trial, linking Health Minister, Leslie Ramsammy, to the importation of the spy equipment used by convicted drug dealer,Brian Cushing College Jersey, Roger Khan here in Guyana.The opposition party has promised to continue protest action until it receives a favourable response to demands. |
