She reportedly has a wealth of knowledge of poetry and drama which helped fashion her teaching style.Ms Alleyne moved on to work at Digicel for three years and even did cultural pieces at staff functions.She gained the opportunity to attend the University of the West Indies,Max Scherzer Nationals Jersey, St. Augustine campus in Trinidad and Tobago,Detroit Tigers Kirk Gibson Jersey, following her participation at Carifesta XI.She is now pursuing the Practitioner’s Certificate in Drama/Theatre-in-Education which is done at the Creative Arts and Festival Department under the Faculty of Humanities and Education.She said that she would appreciate the help to continue her course since she believes that Guyana’s artistic culture is dying.Alleyne added that she gained lots of practical experience from participating in various plays at the University since there is always something to be involved in there.The course gives her a wide range of skills needed for teaching, facilitating workshops and producing drama and theatre programmes.Alleyne said that she plans to use her acquired knowledge in giving back to Guyana.She proposes to teach drama and theatre in schools and communities; build and facilitate workshops to highlight and work on moral problems that are affecting young people; and start a Creative Arts Foundation that would allow Guyanese to study one of the certificate programmes at UWI,Ricky Vaughn Indians Jersey, St. Augustine.She also plans to produce old and new theatre plays for the public entertainment and building a network with other production companies so there could be an exchange of shows and talents.The Roy Watts Memorial Bursary is named in honour of the deceased husband of former UWI Lecturer Dr Margaret Watts and father of Mr Roger Watts of the UWI Open Campus.
