He told the court that the bail amount was already fixed and if there was an objection Hinckson’s lawyers should have opposed it from the inception.He further noted that the bail was paid and there is no need for a reduction. Datadin also told the court that bail should not be reduced because Hinckson has strong ties to the United States.Hughes rebutted that this is not a case of Hinckson fleeing the jurisdiction, because he was granted “leave” by the Chief Justice Ian Chang.
