The horrible smash-up that involved two Toyota AT 212 motorcars on Saturday evening on the Number Two East Canje public road and claimed two lives, is now being blamed for another.Tony Tayloo,Yusmeiro Petit Venezuela Jersey, called Rocky, 25, of 383 Number Two village, East Canje Berbice, and Suracedyal Kalipersaud, called Emran, 29, of 75 Sheet Anchor and of Tortola  British Virgin Islands,Eric Wood Canada Jersey, died in that accident.They might have been responsible for the demise of another individual, leaving one family to take care of two deaths.Evelyn Elliot,Freddie Freeman Canada Jersey, 65, of Sheet Anchor, East Canje,Jeanmar Gomez Venezuela Jersey, Berbice and formerly of Essequibo, lived in one of the houses in the same yard with the Kalipersauds.She collapsed and died at her work place at the New Amsterdam hospital on Sunday morning, apparently of heart attack. That was after she saw the body of Suracedyal Kalipersaud in the mortuary.Her sudden demise is specifically related to that of the young man, because she was part and parcel of his upbringing and at times helped to baby-sit him.According to Roy Kalipersaud, the father of ‘Emran’, the woman helped to take care of all three of his children.Roy Kalipersaud who is a popular mechanic, welder and repairman in the Berbice area for over four decades, told Kaieteur News that he actually moved into the area and found the woman living there. He said that the woman told him that she came from Essequibo.He subsequently bought the place and made a house for her in the same yard.He said that she would be at his house on a daily basis and he helped to take care of her and she helped to overlook the children in their younger days and up to the time of her demise, she would still be at his home for long hours.At first, the woman did not know of Suracedyal’s death and according to reports, when she heard of the accident she went to the Mortuary to enquire and upon seeing her ‘son’,Chris Colabello Italy Jersey, she collapsed.According to Roy, he will have to take care of her burial, because she does not have anyone around. “She doesn’t have any one around that we know of; since I knew her over 40 years ago she has been alone. I will have to take care of all the funeral expenses, of both her and my son, the businessman said”.“Though poor, she was very kind and simple and used to be by me for most of the time”.In the meanwhile, as investigations into the accident continue, the drivers of both cars have been placed in custody. He was discharged on Monday and taken back into custody.The other driver, Shawn Ramsarran,Alex Liddi Italy Jersey, 29,Brandon Crawford USA Jersey, called ‘Fat Boy’ of 4 Sheet Anchor, East Canje Berbice,Arcenio Leon Venezuela Jersey, and driver of HB 7214 was taken into custody on Monday afternoon.This was after he was discharged from the hospital, after being admitted on the night of the accident suffering from multiple injuries to various parts of his body.Reports are that two cars, both AT 212 Toyota Carinas were racing along the No2 public road around 19:30 hrs on Saturday when they hit a cow that was on the road.It is understood that HB 7214 then slammed into HB 6777 and sent it careening off the road into a verandah of a house which houses the popular Stanley workshop. The car uprooted one of the house’s posts before coming to rest on the fence separating the yard from another. HB 7214 in the meanwhile toppled a few times during which it struck Tayloo who was cycling on the road on his way to purchase phone cards, killing him instantly.
