His National Hardware is embroiled in legal dispute with Guyana Realty Investment Limited (GRIL) for prescriptive rights to prime land in the city.Proprietor of National Eddie BoyerThe property located at 117 “B” Regent and Alexander Streets, Georgetown,Marcus Paige North Carolina Jersey, became a source of contention several years ago, with Sattaur Gafoor, the Chairman of GRIL, which is linked to Gafoor & Sons Group of Companies, claiming that GRIL has ownership, having purchased the property from a third party (Stanley Collymore) in 1993,Steve Owens Oklahoma Jersey, to use the premises to operate a paint shop. But Boyer, who is also known as Claude Deygoo,A. J. Hawk Ohio State Jersey, claims that he and his wife, Donna Deygoo, have legal entitlement to the said property on the basis of a transported title,Dontre Wilson Ohio State Jersey, they acquired in September 2008.The matter is ongoing before Justice Roxane George-Wiltshire at the High Court in Georgetown. The Boyers are being represented by Attorneys-at-Law Devindra Kissoon and Rajendra Poonai, while GRIL is being represented by Rex McKay S.C, Edward Luckhoo S.C,Maurice Clarett Ohio State Jersey, and Neil Boston.Boyer returned to the stand yesterday where he faced more questions about his knowledge of the tenants of the property located at 117 “B” Regent and Alexander Streets, Georgetown. Senior Counsel, Mc Kay inquired from the witness,Barry Sanders Oklahoma State Jersey, whether he was familiar with the names, Franklin Bumbury and Mahendra Gangaram and whether they were his tenants. The businessman explained that Bumbury was his tenant but not Gangaram. He said that Bumbury became a tenant in 2008 after he acquired a transport for the property.Questioned further; Boyer added that” Bumbury is still a tenant.”The businessman was subsequently shown a document (an affivdavit) which purported to show a transaction between his wife,Harrison Barnes North Carolina Jersey, Donna Deygoo and Gangaram.Boyer then said that he recognized his wife’s signature on the document. He held however that his wife’s transaction with Gangram was completely legitimate, given that she was part owner of the estate in 2008.Before Senior Counsel Mc Kay could continue with his line of questioning, Attorney-at-Law Devindra Kissoon objected to the evidence. Kissoon noted that the information was unnecessary at that time since the court had already dealt with it at a previous,Patrick Willis Ole Miss Jersey, occasion.Yesterday’s proceeding subsequently came to a halt. Boyer is expected to face further questions when the matter resumes on September 11 at 1:30 pm |
