Berbice police has nabbed a Surinamese man who disappeared since 1995 after being jailed in Guyana for issuing bounced cheques to rice farmers.Police officials yesterday confirmed that Krishna Paul Doerga was arrested last week on an outstanding jail warrant by police at Whim Village, Corentyne.The Surinamese had been sentenced to three years in absentia. Kaieteur News understands that Doerga was issued with a licence to operate a rice mill.In 1995, he was accused of buying paddy from farmers and issuing cheques although he had no money in his account.He was charged and placed on bail.
