After being stabbed multiple times by her estranged husband, 39-year-old Sumintra Rampersaud still remains in a critical condition in the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital.Yesterday, hospital officials said that she was lapsing in and out of consciousness. He fled after she collapsed.Rampersaud was rescued by public-spirited persons who heard her screams and summoned a taxi to rush her to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery.
