On January 12 while departing Guyana for Jamaica she was nabbed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport with 1.1Kg of cocaine concealed in her wig.She pleaded guilty to the charge of trafficking in narcotics and claimed that Stoby was the person who concealed the cocaine in her wig at a hotel unknowing to her before she attempted to depart for Jamaica.However the police prosecutor Shellon Daniels declared that they had a caution statement signed by Peters declaring that she knew about the cocaine being placed in the wig.The prosecutor further stated that Peters declared that Stoby told her about everything before taking her to a hotel in Agricola where she was given US$300, airport tax and a ticket to Jamaica along with the cocaine.
