One man has been charged with shooting the East Canje businesswoman in her head. Aubrey Brandt,Matt Murray Penguins Jersey, 25,Dan Girardi Rangers Jersey, of Lot 51 Archer Street No Two Village,Evgeny Kuznetsov Capitals Jersey, East Canje Berbice,Ron Francis Penguins Jersey, and of Bristol Street,Nikita Kucherov Lightning Jersey, Cumberland East Canje,Tom Wilson Capitals Jersey, appeared on Monday before Magistrate Mauricia Mittelholzer in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s court on a charge of robbery under arms.Brandt, who is well known to the authorities and has been described as a career criminal, is charged with robbing Rafeena Angela Hussain of two gold finger rings valued at $50,000,Tom Barrasso Penguins Jersey, $400,000 and $100 US cash while armed with a gun.During the court proceedings the man started to behave in a disorderly manner and was ordered back in the holding cell. He is expected to be back in court on August 21.Hussain, 41, of “Neezam” Grocery and Haberdashery store of Lot 62 Second Street Palmyra,David Perron Penguins Jersey, East Canje, Berbice who was shot in the head during a robbery at her home and business premises.She was rushed to the New Amsterdam hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She was subsequently removed from the ICU and placed in the open ward.The woman, her husband Fizul “Neezam” Hussain and three of their children were at home in the two-storey wood and concrete building which houses a grocery shop below.The family was about to close the business around 19:30 when the five masked armed bandits barged in.Three of the bandits were armed with guns while two had cutlasses. The men ransacked the shop and took all of the day’s sales. One of the bandits held the woman by her collar and pointed the gun to her head before firing a shot,Jonathan Ericsson Red Wings Jersey, while the other bandits kept an eye on the rest of the family.The bandits brutalized every family member.They subsequently escaped by foot before boarding a dark-coloured car that was parked in a side street and had no number plate. All of the men wore toque masks with the holes cut out for the eyes and mouth. |
