Another batch of young peoples Thursday graduated from four different categories ofMinister of Home Affairs,Zach Parise Jersey, Clement Rohee, presenting a certificate to a graduant of the cosmetology course in the Citizen Security Programmevocational training under the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Citizen Security Programme (CSP), youth life skills/vocational training programme.This programe was funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).Thirty-five graduates hailing from communities between Plaisance and Vryheid’s Lust villages, East Coast Demerara.They had benefitted from the skills training in areas of garment construction,Colton Parayko Team North America Jersey, electrical installation, food preparation and services,Erik Gustafsson Jersey, and cosmetology.The Plaisance-Vryheid’s Lust Community Action Officer,Christian Folin Jersey, Theresa Miller,Martin Havlat Jersey, stated that though the six-months of training proved to be challenging for some, with dedication and commitment, the students were able to excel in their fields.This was the second graduation ceremony for the communities. It took place at the Glory Light Academy, Andries Noble Avenue, PlaisanceMinister of Home Affairs,Graham Knott Jersey, Clement Rohee,Jarret Stoll Jersey, explained that this programme has been a successful initiative thus far. Some 800 persons throughout Guyana inclusive of yesterday’s batch have completed the training programmes.“The number of people graduating is important but the main significance of the programme is what it delivers. There are other places which offer similar programmes and when this is added up, thousands of youngsters are added to the country’s skills pool,Jonas Brodin Jersey,” said Rohee.Minister Rohee urged the graduates to grasp and make use of opportunities such as training programmes since these may not be presented again.Some of the graduants of the Ministry of Home Affairs Citizen Security Training Programme at Plaisance- Vryheid’s Lust with their teachers and staff of the Ministry of Home AffairsHe said that the training programme was only the first step towards a long path ahead of the youths and that they must expect to face many challenges since it is all a part of life.The Minister charged the youths to continue to contribute to their communities and to the country.Community Action Specialist, Rosanne Punwasie,Matt Dumba Jersey, said that the initiative is structured to attract school drop-outs, so as to provide them with the opportunity to learn a trade and at the same time engage them in meaningful activities.
