The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has denied that it has given undertakings to any political party that it would publish for public vetting theGECOM’s Chairman, Dr. Steve Surujballyparticulars of persons who will be employed to work for the upcoming General and Regional Elections.GECOM’s statement was in response to an article titled “PPP/C pushing for public vetting of elections day staff”, which was published in the Government-aligned, Guyana Times, on Tuesday.The Commission said that the article purports that its Chairman, Dr. Steve Surujbally, agreed with a suggestion from the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) for public vetting of future GECOM employees to be facilitated.“Dr. Surujbally made no such agreement.
