Murder accused Jermaine Maynard is set to face a High Court trial for killing his ex-girlfriendMurdered Accused: Jermaine MaynardCarlissa Mathews.Maynard, 44,Kevin Greene Steelers Jersey, is accused of shooting Mathews to the head outside the Kentucky Fried Chicken,Jared Cook Packers Jersey, (KFC) outlet on Water and Croal Streets in Georgetown,Andre Tippett Patriots Jersey, on December 31, 2013.Reports had indicated that minutes before the shooting, Maynard approached the 20-year-old woman,Franco Harris Steelers Jersey, who was standing outside KFC and requested an audience with her. Matthews refused and was shot to the head,John Hannah Patriots Jersey, allegedly by Maynard. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation,Ty Montgomery Packers Jersey, where she later succumbed early New Year’s Day 2014.Reports had further indicated that the accused fled the scene after the alleged shooting but was nabbed at the ‘back track’ crossing at Springlands,Taylor Gabriel Falcons Jersey, Corentyne  on January 2,DeAngelo Williams Steelers Jersey, as he was about to board a boat.  He was subsequently charged for the murder.Yesterday, Maynard appeared at the Georgetown High Court. At the initial hearing, he pleaded not guilty to the offence before Justice Navindra Singh and a mixed twelve- member jury.  His trial is set to commence at 09:00 hrs today.Approximately twelve witnesses are listed to be called to the stand by Attorneys Siand Dhurjon,Donnie Shell Steelers Jersey, Narissa Leander and Michael Shahoud.  The three lawyers are presenting the case on behalf of the State. Attorney Adrian Thompson is representing the accused.
