– Rural Constable releasedPolice are still awaiting statements from two young men who were shot on Norton Street in controversial circumstances last week Wednesday night.Kaieteur News understands that the two youths,Erik Gustafsson Jersey, Christopher McLean and Richard Philadelphia,Alexander Steen Jersey, were discharged earlier this week from the Balwant Singh Hospital where they were admitted after the shooting.However, a police source who is familiar with the case told this newspaper that investigators are at a standstill since the injured youths have not yet given an official statement on the shooting.Initial reports had indicated that McLean, the grandson of retired Major General Norman McLean,David Rundblad Jersey, was said to have been driving a borrowed car,Patrick Sharp Jersey, when he spotted a car that was following, flashing its lights to attract their attention.As the car that McLean was driving stopped,Marcus Kruger Jersey, the driver of the second car came out and immediately opened fire,Jaden Schwartz Jersey, striking McLean in the throat. The bullet exited.Eyewitnesses had said that the driver then went to the other side of the car and demanded money from Philadelphia.One person heard him asking, “Wheh de money?”Philadelphia reportedly attempted to exit the car and escape but the gunman shot him. The bullet reportedly missed a kidney but lodged in his abdomen.A third occupant of the car McLean was driving,Dennis Rasmussen Jersey, who turned out to be the Rural Constable whose name was given as Bradley, was not shot. McLean managed to drive to the hospital despite being shot. Police had detained the Rural Constable since they believed that he had set up the two young men to be robbed.In the absence of statements from the two victims,Marcel Goc Jersey, however,Jon Casey Jersey, the police were forced to release the man on station bail.
