President Bharrat Jagdeo has said that he will be appointing the judges who were recommended by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) next week. The Head of State said that he is very conscious of the vacancies in the judiciary. However, he added that filling those vacancies is a function of the JSC.“I will be awaiting further recommendations from the JSC, but those who were already recommended to me,Jay Bouwmeester Jersey, I plan to have them sworn in next week,” the President asserted.Chairman of the JSC,Chris Davis Orioles Jersey, Chancellor Carl Singh,Gustav Nyquist Red Wings Jersey, yesterday confirmed that the two persons recommended for judicial appointments are attorneys-at-law Dianna Insanally and Franklin Holder.He also said that the complement for the High Court is 12 judges. Justice Singh also noted that, with Senior Counsel Charles Ramson being appointed Attorney-General, there is now a vacancy in the Court of Appeal,Arizona Wildcats Jerseys, which the JSC will be working on shortly.Reports state that the JSC recommended the judges since last year April,Dre Kirkpatrick Alabama Jersey, and despite the shortage of judges and the unprecedented backlog that exists in the court system, more than nine months have passed without them being sworn in.
