Several Bills are soon to be tabled in Parliament in keeping with the administration’s commitment to improve the justice and social sectors by ensuring that adequate legislation are available to protect the rights of Guyana’s citizens.Head of the Presidential Secretariat and Cabinet Secretary,Stephen Gostkowski Patriots Jersey UK, Dr. Roger Luncheon,Mike Mitchell Steelers Jersey UK, at his weekly post-Cabinet media briefing yesterday,Jack Lambert Steelers Jersey UK, informed that Cabinet has reviewed its Parliamentary Legislative Programme which is being considered for enactment during the 9th Parliament.He stated that Cabinet recognised that there are the last two Children’s Bills (the Child Care and Development Services Bill and the Custody, Contact,Randall Cobb Packers Jersey UK, Guardianship and Maintenance Bill) will are to be tabled shortly,Carnell Lake Steelers Jersey UK, after which they are expected to be sent to the Parliamentary Special Select Committee.These Bills are among five pieces of legislation which include the Protection of Children’s Bill,Ray Nitschke Packers Jersey UK, the Status of the Children’s Bill and the Adoption of the Children’s Bill which have already been passed by the National Assembly.Dr. Luncheon noted that Cabinet has kept under “its active scrutiny and its examination of the progress” the following list of the priority Bills which are anticipated to be tabled with the completion of its established procedures.These include the Legal Practitioners Bill,Rob Gronkowski Patriots Jersey UK, the Juvenile Offences Bill, the Sexual Offences Bill,Franco Harris Steelers Jersey UK, the Electronic Transactions Bill,Julius Peppers Packers Jersey UK, the New Building Society Amendments Bill and the Freedom of Information (Access to Information) Bill.Dr. Luncheon also stated that Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy will be tabled by motion at today’s sitting of the National Assembly. |
