While almost every sector of the Carifesta X celebrations was coming to a close on Saturday,Cody Eakin Jersey, folks in the Carifesta Fashion Focus camp were feverishly preparing for a massive closing show depicting some of Guyana’s and the Caribbean’s most rated designers. Using their specially trained models, Fashion Focus once again pulled off a massive fashion extravaganza that exuded elite creation and imagination.Exotic strumming of guitars and the echoing effects of jungle creatures was the music selected for the opening act,Mikael Granlund Jersey, which featured designs by Rhonda Dunbar.Some of the designs featured at Saturday’s Fashion Focus closing show.This fashion line featured casual female suits,Craig Hartsburg Jersey, explosive swimwear, chic pantsuits for the ladies,Jonathan Toews Jersey, as well as few men’s pieces. Overall, it was an intriguing creation in sombre shades and alluring colours.Another remarkable fashion entry was that of Barbados’s,Stan Mikita Jersey, Sharon James, which showcased pretty little summer dresses in startling colours and skimpy swimsuits for ‘the daring woman’. Local designer Sanola Forte’s blood red evening gowns and short dresses were blow-away items, some of them fitted with slits creatively designed to tease.‘Third Revolt’ of Barbados showcased an interesting T-shirt line with intricate and artistic designs.Loud was the applause for Musical Hands,Jason Spezza Jersey, which comprised designs made from organic material. Designer Carol Lindie used paddy bags, straw and other materials to create a beautiful array of hats, bags, skimpy and full figured dresses that had the audience whooping in delight.Rishma Persaud’s,Thomas Vanek Jersey, ‘Caribbean Trend’ entailed eye-catching, body hugging evening gowns in simple but elaborate prints and shades.Climax Designs was indeed a smashing line,Brian Elliott Jersey, consisting of colourful gowns, skimpy dresses with elaborate hair bows and other items. This line was a crowd pleaser, but it was Dominique La Roache’s line of ladies and gents wear that brought loud exclamations of approval from the audience.The gowns and dresses were all glamorous and made a bold fashion statement, but his male pieces were absolutely fantastic. Pants that dropped just below the hips were fitted with creative tops that depicted various forms of ethnicity, while fabulous male bags draped across the shoulders of topless models added a breathtaking finishing touch.Each designer line depicted in the show, which was divided into two segments, spoke positive volumes for fashion both locally and internationally.It also truly depicted that fashion is definitely on the rise in the Caribbean.Other designers featured in the show included Theo Chris by Alex Ryan, Louan Lewis Jackson,Troy Brouwer Jersey, Andrea King, Dexter Jennings, Olympia Small Sonoram, Sonia Noel, Kimberly Glasgow and KAT Designs. |
