The National Stadium at Providence,Brian Leetch Rangers Jersey, East Bank Demerara came alive on Sunday with a kaleidoscope at the GT&T sponsored and organised National ColorFest.The event formed part of the celebration of the Hindu Festival, Holi.The colour fest,Vladimir Konstantinov Red Wings Jersey, the first ever such organised in Guyana, attracted over 7000 persons reflecting Guyana’s diverse ethnic and religious population.Themed Blue Powder,Mario Lemieux Penguins Jersey, blue was the dominant colour as the participants made lavish use of the powder distributed by the company.The National Stadium audience was entertained by Chutney Queen Fiona Singh,Dylan Larkin Red Wings Jersey, Shakti Strings Orchestra, Yakesh Yankarran,Antti Raanta Rangers Jersey, Kings Tassa group and several other talented groups.Another first was the National Chowtal Competition which attracted several groups.The group,Tie Domi Rangers Jersey, Indus Voices,Chris Kreider Rangers Jersey, won the $300,Justin Williams Capitals Jersey,000 first prize. The second and third place groups received $150,000 and G$50,Serge Savard Canadiens Jersey,000 respectively.More than $600,000 was given away for talent and creative themes.A special prize was given to the most “blue” person – and this segment was voted for by the massive crowd’s applause.The company, as part of its planned programme for its 20th anniversary, recently organised events in observance of the major religious holidays in Guyana.Numerous persons applauded the Company for its vision and foresight in holding the National ColorFest and called upon it to continue doing so. |
