One youth was hospitalised and subsequently discharged yesterday, while his alleged attacker is in police custody following a brawl at a May Fair held at the Berbice Educational Institute on Saturday.Injured is Seon Evans, 19, of Harkmans Lane, New Amsterdam, who it is understood received a gash on his head above his eye,Randal Grichuk Jersey, causing his face to swell. He also sustained bruises about his body.The attacker, Richard King David,Martin Maldonado Jersey, also of New Amsterdam,Santiago Casilla Jersey, is in police custody and is likely to be charged soon.Kaieteur News understands that the regular May Fair was being held at the Berbice Education Institute to a packed audience. There was a variety of activities, including modeling with popular Music set,Philadelphia Phillies Michael Saunders Jersey, ‘Bass Line Sound System’.During the modeling activity,Cincinnati Reds Scott Feldman Jersey, a misunderstanding developed between the two youths over a female who was part of the modeling contest.Evans, it was learnt, was making advances to the girl when David,Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Martin Maldonado Jersey, who allegedly is her boyfriend,Arizona Diamondbacks Taijuan Walker Jersey, got annoyed an attacked him.Evans was floored and while he lay on the ground his attacker continued to rain blows on him rendering him unconscious.The injured Evans was picked up and rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted.Speaking to Kaieteur News, Evans’s father, a security officer,Atlanta Braves R.A. Dickey Jersey, said that he was at home shortly after midnight on Sunday when his wife received a phone call that their son was stabbed and was at the hospital.He said that he, along with other family members immediately hired a car and raced down to the New Amsterdam Hospital, where he saw his son in an unconscious state.His son, who is the last of his four children,Baltimore Orioles Michael Bourn Jersey, subsequently regained consciousness and was discharged yesterday.The senior Evans said that he visited the Central Police Station where he was assured by a senior rank that an investigation is ongoing and the matter will not be swept under the carpet.He also visited the school on Sunday to ascertain what took place and spoke to a senior teacher, who gave him some of the details. |
