– Passerby and rural constable recovering; shot bandit still under police guardThe police are hoping that the wounded bandit who was severely chopped by businessman Dennis Ramah, surfaces at a hospital trying to seek medical attention, since according to sources the wound is very serious.Ramah was shot and killed after he put up a fierce fight against five armed bandits who invaded his home and business place at 18 Second Street, Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara on Tuesday.Killed also in the home invasion was one of the bandits, who up to press time, remained unidentified.Senior police officials, commenting on the matter,Julius Peppers Packers Jersey, said that police ranks were working around the clock to capture the remaining bandits. The official also said that they are hoping that a surveillance tape captured the features of some the escaped bandits. Kaieteur News was told that the ranks went back to the Ramah’s home and watched the tape, yesterday.A copy of the tape is expected to be available to the police by today. The police also took statements from relatives and employees.Furthermore, the official said that Quincy Arthur, one of the suspects caught after the robbery on Tuesday, is at present on bail for another robbery committed almost a month ago. Arthur is being detained at the Beterverwagting Police Station.The police described Arthur as a known character, who had multiple robbery charges against his name.“He is well known to the police…and he is on bail for another robbery that happened almost a month ago” said the official.The official added that Arthur is suspected to be a part of an East Coast Demerara gang that has committed a series of robberies.Meanwhile this newspaper was told that Rural Constable, Davenand Shymaraj,Jerome Bettis Steelers Jersey, is recovering well at a private hospital. Shymaraj was shot as he bravely tried to stop the fleeing bandits. He was shot in the leg and hand. A bullet also grazed his shoulder. He underwent surgery to have the bullets removed from his body.Shymaraj had told Kaieteur News that after he heard about the robbery he uplifted his shotgun and headed to the area.  However on his way he noticed two of the bandits running out of the street so he exited his vehicle with the gun.By that time the two men who were carrying guns opened fire on Shymaraj, who returned fire. Shymaraj was shot but he managed to hit one of the gunmen who was subsequently apprehended by police.The gunfire damaged the windscreen of Shymaraj’s vehicle. When this newspaper visited the area a bullet was still lodged in the door of the vehicle. Daniel Muller, 76, of Success, East Coast Demerara, was hit by a stray bullet.  Muller, according to his wife Subhajai, was returning from clinic when the incident happened.The elderly man is still a patient in the Georgetown Public Hospital.
