The performance recorded by Queen’s College at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination has improved, according to statistics unveiled by the school yesterday. According to a statement issued by the school, “Queen’s College continues to record excellent performances in all subject areas offered at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate.”It was revealed that the exceptional performances are due to a combination of factors including: the dedication of teachers to the education process, commitment of the students to their academic pursuits and the encouragement given by parents, and other stakeholders namely: Queen’s College Board of Governors, the Parent-Teacher Association, the Queen’s College Alumni and support from the Ministry of Education.Based on an analysis offered by the school, the results revealed an improvement from last year’s performance. Last year,Clay Matthews Packers Jersey UK, the school recorded 583 Grade one passes, 296 Grade two passes, 88 Grade three passes, 11 Grade four and five Grade five. This year however marked a notable improvement with 707 Grade one passes, 323 Grade two passes,James Harrison Steelers Jersey UK, 72 Grade three passes, 11 Grade four and three Grade five.In addition, this year, Queen’s College gained six places in the top 10 position. Fourteen of the top students secured 11 or more grade ones and in the top 27 and 43 of the top 141 candidates secured eight or more grade ones,Jack Butler Steelers Jersey UK, representing 45.7 percent. Seventy-one students secured grades one to two in 10 subjects, representing 75.5 percent. All students, according to the Queen’s College statement, secured seven to 16 subjects with Grades one to three,Tevin Coleman Falcons Jersey UK, representing a clear 100 percent pass rate.Further analysis of the results showed a 100 percent pass rate in the subject areas of Agriculture Science, Biology, Caribbean History, Clothing and Textiles, Economics, English A, Food and Nutrition, Geography, Home Economics Management,Atlanta Falcons Jersey UK, Information Technology,Logan Ryan Patriots Jersey UK, Integrated Science and Mathematics, Office Administration, Physics, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business,Matt Ryan Falcons Jersey UK, Social Studies, Technical Drawing,Kevin Greene Steelers Jersey UK, Visual Arts, EDPM, Physical Education, Human and Social Biology and Electricity. There was a 98.9 percent pass rate in the subject area of English B, 98.3 percent in Chemistry, 90.4 percent in French and 83 percent in Spanish.It has been deduced that the results for this year reflect a 98.74 percent pass rate when the passes of Grade one to three are considered. Grades One to two passes on the other hand reflected a 92.91 percent pass rate.It must be noted that 94 candidates in the fifth form sat the examination along with 28 fourth form students who wrote Mathematics.
