An investigation into the passing of 15-year-old Shemar Miggins at the West Demerara Regional Hospital on Saturday is still ongoing.  At least this is according to Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Shamdeo Persaud,Dave Concepcion Reds Jersey, whose gazetted authority requires that he lead the probe.Dr. Persaud said yesterday that he is still not in possession of the coroner’s report, which will detail the cause of death of the teenager, who reportedly succumbed after being administered oral medication intravenously.He disclosed that in order to complete a thorough investigation, a request has been made for additional sampling and testing to be done on Miggins’s remains.This newspaper was informed that the lad’s death resulted from asphyxiation which was caused by food in his lungs.
