Over 90 aviation personnel were a part of safety seminar that was aimed at promoting and maintaining the highest standards of safety in their day-to-day operations.The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority had expressed concerns about the serious incidents and accidents involving aircrafts in Guyana last year.As such the GCAA has decided that safety seminars would be hosted with the intention of reminding members of the aviation industry of their duty in maintaining the highest standard of safety.The presenters were Captain Gregory Fox,Harrison Barnes Mavericks Swingman Jersey, CEO of Caribbean Aviation Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS) and Captain Egbert Field,Kyle Korver Hawks Swingman Jersey, Manager,Jimmy Butler Bulls Jersey, Flight Operations Jamaica CAA.Captain Fox has served the Aviation Industry in Canada for 50 years,Michael Jordan Bulls Swingman Jersey, while Captain Field is a Guyanese with more than 40 years experience as a pilot. He has flown every type of aircraft on the Guyana Aircraft Register.Guyana is a member of the Caribbean Aviation Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS).Some of the personnel that were a part of the sessions ranged from Company Owners, Senior Executives,Jimmy Butler USA Jersey, Chief Pilots,Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Pistons Swingman Jersey, Maintenance Engineers,Al Horford Celtics Jersey, Air Traffic Controllers, Flight Operation Personnel, Airport Personnel and Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and Inspectors.Adding to the concerns being raised,Kemba Walker Hornets Jersey, Minister of Transport and Hydraulics Robeson Benn,Marcus Morris Pistons Jersey, noted that it is necessary to take steps to mitigate what he described as the unacceptable situation.According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the seminars were focused on the prevention of three major types of accidents: Loss of Control in Flight, Controlled Flight into Terrain and Approach and Landing accidents including Runway Incursions and Excursions.The flight body noted that the training that was provided was well received by the aviation industry and has achieved its objectives since the attendances were very good and the participants were very interactive, while the seminar contents were well designed and delivered and the feedbacks were positive. |
